She last saw him one year ago.
They played together when they were children.
The most common time expressions used for past actions are:
- yesterday; the other day
- an hour/ a day/ a week/ a month/years ago; ages ago; a long time ago
- last night/ week/ month//year
- in the past
- when I was a child...
AFFERMATIVE FORM
Subject + verb+ed
She cleaned her room yesterday.
Subject + irregular verb
She went home at 10 last night.
INTERROGATIVE FORM
Did + subject + verb
Did you read that book?
NEGATIVE FORM
Subject + didn't + verb
She didn't watch the movie
